The best places to stay in Singapore

Stay a night at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore

Marina Bay Sands is probably one of the hotels in the world with its eye-catching swimming pool on top of the three towers. For many people, it is a dream or a bucket list to stay a night in the Marina Bay Sands and watch the sunset from the top.

However, it isn’t cheap to stay here as the price for a night at Marina Bay Sands starts from 500 USD, so if your budget allows it, treat yourself and enjoy some of the most epic views and relax at the largest infinity pool in the world.

TIP: When you book your stay at Marina Bay Sands with Booking.com, you can opt for “Free cancellation”

Little India & Kampong Glam

Little India and Kampong Glam are very vibrant neighborhoods in Singapore and are famous among backpackers as there are many affordable accommodations.

It even might be the best area to stay in Singapore if you are on a budget as it is also close to many highlights of the city, such as Haji Lane, Arab Street, and local restaurants.

With the subway, you are in less than 30 min at the Gardens By The Bay, which is another amazing highlight of Singapore.

TIP: The blue line takes you from either Little India or Kampong Glam to The Gardens By The Bay.

Outram & Chinatown

The Outram neighborhood in Singapore is located in the central part of Singapore and is home to the Chinatown area. It’s a great choice for backpackers and travelers searching for cheap accommodations but still wanting to be close to all the main attractions. (just a few minutes from the center with the subway)

In the Outram neighborhood, you find the trendy Keong Saik Road, which is the perfect place to hang out in the evening time in one of the coolest bars and restaurants that Singapore has to offer.

I stayed in the Tiong Bahru area in Singapore, a more residential neighborhood close to Chinatown, where I had a shared dorm room in Thad’s Boutique Hostel

For only $27 per person/night incl breakfast, I can highly recommend this place if you’re looking for an affordable and still trendy place to stay. You get your own bed, power socket, locker, and privacy curtain, it’s super clean and located in a lovely area.

River Valley & Orchard

River Valley and Orchard Road are centrally located and it is a great area to stay in Singapore if you like to visit the big meals and shopping centers.

Orchard Street, Clarke Quay, and the Singapore River are within walking distance as well as many world-class restaurants and peaceful gardens.

MONEY SAVING TIP: In some of the malls are big supermarkets on the basement floor where you can select your own salad or lunch bowl for only a few dollars.

During my 3 days in Singapore itinerary, I was lucky to explore many of the amazing neighborhoods of Singapore and I can’t wait to go back and discover new places.

Make sure you visit Singapore on your next stopover in this amazing city and hopefully this article will help you to find the best places to stay in Singapore.

The camera gear I used for this trip

I never go out without my camera and many people ask me which gear I use. So to make it quite easy, I listed all the gear I used for this trip below.

Most of the time, I travel with the Sony A7III and the Sony 24-105mm/f4 as my primary lens but depending on the location, I change to another setup. However, I love the Tamron 17-28 to shoot in the big cities.
