Where is Coron located?
If you have never been to the Philippines and wondering where this incredible beautiful piece of paradise is?
Coron is a real tropical paradise just ready to be found and located in the beautiful province of Palawan in the Philippines. It’s in the northern tip of Palawan and about an hour flight from Manila.
It has beautiful limestone cliffs, turquoise blue waters full of colourful marine life, and many other breathtaking landscapes, which makes it more than worth the journey to get here.
How to get to Coron?
- By plane:
There are direct flights to Coron – Busuanga Airport from Manila or Cebu. This is the best way to get to Coron and there are several flights a day. The trip takes about 40 minutes, and tickets cost $25 to $100 one-way. There are a lot of tuk-tuks and minivans leaving from the airport for Coron Town as soon as you step outside of the airport of Coron.
You can pre-book your airport shuttle here for only $5
- By ferry:
You could also take a boat from El Nido to Coron, which runs twice a day. Each way costs about $35 and takes about three hours and thirty minutes. It is the cheapest option to travel between Coron and El Nido however, the next option might be the most amazing way to travel between the islands. - With an expedition:
Joining a four-day El Nido to Coron Expedition is the most epic way to travel between these Islands. This expedition will take you to the most idyllic islands in the Palawan region over the course of four days, with stops on secluded beaches and amazing snorkel spots.
Where to stay in Coron
The most popular place to stay in Coron is Coron Town, which is located an hour from Busuanga airport. In Coron town are many places to stay, from cheap hostels to more luxury hotels.
I stayed in Dayon Hostel for 5 days, which I also highly recommend to anyone looking for an affordable but still trendy place to stay in Coron. If you are looking for more luxurious accommodation, I can highly recommend The Funny Lion.

The camera gear I used for this trip
I never go out without my camera and many people ask me which gear I use. So to make it quite easy, I listed all the gear I used for this trip below.
Most of the time, I travel with the Sony A7III and the Sony 24-105mm/f4 as my primary lens but depending on the location, I change to another setup. However, I love the Tamron 17-28 to shoot in the big cities.
